Helping those affected by HIV/AIDS since 1986
CBWF was founded in 1986, as the Coastal Bend AIDS Foundation, by a group of concerned citizens, to address the immediate needs of those who were dying from AIDS. The group started by delivering food and blankets from the trunk of a car. As funds became available to provide increased services, and HIV/AIDS became more chronic than acute, the agency naturally evolved to develop additional social services to provide health and wellness support to the community
As we grew and expanded, the agency was renamed to represent the wide array of services provided, officially becoming the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation in 2012. CBWF became a federally qualified health center in 2015.
We are proud to provide health care to anyone, regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status.
Our Client Services department contiues to provide quality care and services that maximize the health and wellness of South Texans living with HIV. CBWF’S trusted team of healthcare professionals are committed to helping patients living with HIV live long and healthy lives.
Since its inception, Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation has continually transformed its mission into action, developing service programs that create a seamless continuum of health care and support for those who need it most.
For nearly 40 years, we have remained relevant by expanding services to meet emerging health challenges in our community, all while staying true to our roots and core values.
On our 39th Founder’s Day, we celebrated a new chapter by breaking ground on our brand-new facility on Reed Street, right in the heart of Corpus Christi. With this expansion, we look forward to serving our community for years to come.
