In 1986, a group of concerned community members came together to help friends and family who were becoming ill from a newly identified disease, AIDS. Over the next 25 years, the agency turned into a multi-facet organization providing an array of services, including substance abuse treatment, youth wellness programs as well as addressing additional community health needs.
In 2013, the agency changed names from the Coastal Bend AIDS Foundation to the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation, to better identify what we do.

Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation’s (CBWF) lease is up at the current Mann Street location. After a strenuous nine month search, a new location has been selected. The location at 5633 South Staples, Suite 700, on the corner of Staples and Holly, offers many perks. First, there is ample free parking for clients and staff. Second, a more centralized location will offer easier access for clients to come by for appointments. Third, an in-house clinic will be available to provide clients with care from an HIV Specialist. The office is located on the Route 29 bus route, which crosses the city from the South Staples Station by city hall, pass the malls, and out to Saratoga.
CBWF does not plan for any interruptions of services during the relocation process. The expected date to open the new offices is March 31, 2014. Hours of operation will remain the same, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm.
The CBWF staff and board of directors are excited about the move and the possibility of expanding services to better serve our community.
